Pest Control and Pets

pest control and petsAre you a proud pet owner?  Most pet owners have had unwanted visitors in their homes.  By that, we don’t mean burglars, we mean fleas and other insects such as ticks that animals have a habit of bringing home.  Almost all pet owners in Cook County have probably found fleas in their homes.

From what we have learned is that dogs are the main culprits when it comes to bringing home unwanted guests.  Dogs love to rest on cool grass and outside decks. This is where they will pick up fleas and ticks.

Cats are often a bit more selective when it comes to finding somewhere to rest their heads.  They love soft furnishings and other comfortable places.

An Insight Into Pest Control For Fleas

We have received many call-outs from panicking pet owners in Oak Park and around Cook County.  Yes, it is easy to panic when you discover fleas in your home.  The best thing you can do is to contact a professional pest control service such as ours.

As a pest control company, we have successfully treated homes and other properties for fleas.  Remember that we are only a phone call away.

Do Animal Fleas Bite Humans?

They can do and this is one of the reasons you should call us out when you first notice them.  But, there is another good reason you should call us.

Did you know that many dogs, and cats for that matter, are allergic to flea bites? Some cats can even develop blood disorders when they are exposed to the bite of cat fleas.  Dogs, in their turn, are also more likely to develop an allergic to cat fleas rather than to dog fleas.

Should I Treat My Pet?

pest control and petsOf course, you should treat your pet.  We tell all of the pet owners we meet to contact their local Cook County Vet.  Dog and cat fleas need to be treated in different ways.  For instance, if you have both a cat and a dog, you may find your dog has cat fleas.  This would require a different treatment. It is always best to visit your pet’s vet and let him determine what kind of flea is troubling your furry friend.

When it comes to exterminator services, we will treat both cat and dogs fleas in the same way.  But, as a pet owner, you should never use a treatment meant for a dog on a cat or vice versa.  This can cause serious health problems.

How much does it cost to treat my home for fleas? This is a tough question to answer.  We don’t like giving our clients an estimate over the phone.  Instead, we like to come out and visit to give you an accurate estimate.

You don’t have anything to worry about when it comes to our flea exterminator services.  We will make sure we treat your home like our own and will never use any treatment that will harm your pet.  Please feel free to call or contact our friendly team.
